Thanks Giving is fast approaching, soon will be Christmas. Then the Spring weddings will be here. The holidays have a way of making the time go by fast. So if you still have to plan your wedding flowers, better get it on your calandar. Think about the colors you want to work with and the flowers. Start creating a mental image or go through magazines and collect pictures of boquets you like. Even if you are not sure what you do want, sometimes a starting point can be to know what you don't want.

Enjoy what's left of Fall, Winter's cold front is moving in.

Oh, a little eye candy for those of you who love nature. I was up at JCCC this past week walking through the court yard area on the South side. It was cold and everyone was walking with their heads down. I came up on that row of trees and at eye level I noticed the most beautiful shades of green moss. How could moss look so beautiful on such a cold grey day? Well, it is stunning. In fact, it was the most beautiful art piece up there.

Ladies,

The smell of fresh pine is in the air. Christmas is upon us and for those Bride's who are getting married this Spring, it will be here in a blink after the Holidays. You have extra pressures on you this season. So, if you don't have your florist booked, you need to do so soon because this is when we book quickly for Spring weddings. Thanksgiving to Valentine's Day, Brides are heavily getting engaged, therefore planning and booking everything fast. So, start thinking about colors you enjoy; the season you are getting married in; the style and color of the dresses. Even if you don't know what you DO want, no worries. Sometimes it is very helpful if you can just say what you DON'T want.

Some beautifully fragrant flowers commonly used in weddings are...stephanotis, gardenias, Asiatic lilies, freesia and stock. Because of all the special breeding of roses, hardly any have a good fragrance any more. Usually lavender and yellow ones still do. Well, if the ice keeps you at home a few days this week maybe it will give you some time to get caught up on some planning. Stay warm and most importantly stay safe out there.
