Bridal Bouquet
The origin of the bridal bouquet began hundreds of years ago symbolizing life, love and joy.
Symbolic blossoms with special meanings ripe with fragrance create the perfect bouquet.
Choosing the right flowers and colors to coordinate with your wedding style takes planning.
Envision the color, style and the atmosphere you want your wedding to reflect.  Do you want
formal, informal, garden style, simple, contemporary, romantic, whimsical or elegant?  What
season of the year do you want your wedding and what colors are the flowers and tree foliage in
that season?  Keep in mind the colors you enjoy and the how they make you feel.

Your bouquet should blend color, setting the mood for the rest of the wedding.  The bouquet
should be in proportion to your body, fit your personality and compliment your dress.  If your
dress is very decorative with lace and beads, then the bouquet should be simple, such as a cluster
of all-white tulips.
On the other hand, if your dress is simple your bouquet may be more elaborat
e.
STYLES OF BOUQUETS
Formal: All one color with either all one type of flower or a mix of two or three different
flowers.
Semi formal: Colorful shapes of nosegays or arm bouquets.
Informal: Smaller in size, may be bright and playful, such as a garden mix or a free form bouquet.

SHAPES OF BOUQUETS
Simple: Clusters of flowers either hand tied at the neck of the stems or designed in an oasis
holder.
Nosegay: Round and dense with open blooms.
Posies: Petite Nosegays with tiny buds such as sweetheart roses.
Tussie Mussie: Tiny bouquets carried in silver cone shaped holders. Victorian style.
Cascade: Nosegays that extend with tendrils of greenery like ivy.

MAID’S BOUQUETS
Bride’s maid’s bouquets are usually similar to the brides, but smaller with color
that is contrasting to the maid’s dresses.  If the color of the bouquet and the dress are all the
same, the bouquet will not show up when photographed.  Attempt to use the color of the dress as
an accent in the bouquet.  The maid’s bouquets may be different from the brides, but still use the
same floral theme.

CORSAGES
The special women in your family such as mothers, grandmothers, aunts and sisters that are not
in the wedding party wear unique corsages.  For a nice gesture to those ladies that play an
important part in your day, show them they are appreciated with a simple corsage.  These ladies
might be helping with the guest book and gift tables. Musicians and vocalists who are relatives or
special friends are worthy of a corsage.
There are several new corsage styles for those whose dresses are made of delicate fabric or
spaghetti straps. The traditional corsage that fastens on with magnets instead of pins, the wrist,
and the ring.

Boutonnière
A boutonnière should be simple and sophisticated.  A single blossom or a variety of foliage
echoing the bride’s bouquet is a perfect touch.  The groom’s should be extra special,
distinguishing him from his groomsmen.  Providing the clergy with a boutonnière is up to you.
